"Dean Day!"

It's Saturday! No work. Nothing planned. No running around to family functions. No worries. Just a day filled with 100% goofing off! (Wait, the wife has to work... that stinks... oh well. Love you, Honey!!) I need this day! Work has been busy. The last couple of weeks were very stressful. So, today, is the official "DEAN DAY!"

Dean Day is that day where I do the things I really want to do for myself. It would be called "your name Day" for you specifically. (you know, Gabe Day, Karla Day, Zach Day, Maribeth Day, Declan Day, etc.) Even though I do tend to do what I want on most weekends, Dean Day is the day where you REALLY let your hair down. You can do stuff you haven't done in awhile. You can make a dinner that you haven't had in a long time. Whatever you want to do... DO IT. (of course, be reasonable. don't do anything stupid, like break the law.) The best way to plan your day of fun is simple.... BE SPONTANEOUS.

Today, Saturday, April 14th 2007, I am gonna do the following:

1. Kiss my wife as she leaves and tell her I'll be home when she gets home. (priority, men)

2. Change out of my pjs and get dressed.

3. Grab some comics.

4. Pet the cats as I'm walking out the door.

5. Jump in Claudia, my faithful GMC Jimmy

6. Head to Speedwell Lake (pictured at top) near Lititz and relax for as long as I want.

7. go home and make some tuna casserole and watch a movie or two.

That, my friends is a Dean Day. I hope, if you can, to plan "your day" similar to mine. Everyone needs a day of pure relaxation. Thank you John Hartel for giving a goof-off day a name.
