San Diego Comic Con 2001

Ahh... It's that time again. 140,000 people (last count I believe - help me out Gabe or Savage!) converge on the West Coast to San Diego. They're there for the biggest comic book convention in the world - The San Diego Comic Con. If you a true comic fan and/or collector, you must go to this spectacle of Pop Culture and all around Geekiness (and YES I AM ONE OF THE MANY! LIVE WITH IT!) at least once in your life. I was lucky enough to go to the 2001 Con. I can't say how my experience there went (I do remember a belly dancer, seeing Elvira, Mistress of the Night, and being pointed out by the Mr. Show with Bob and David Panel) but the memories flood with these pictures I took. Before I start, I just want to let you know, these were taken by a disposable camera. Sorry, the Elvira and Mr. Show pictures just didn't turn out right. They were too small. Well, her we go!

Me with Green Lantern and Aquaman at the DC Comics booth. Aquaman looks like Steve Irwin - The Crocodile Hunter Here's Mark Waid. This was second time I met him. The first time was back in '93.
DC 's Mike Carlin with Supes in the background.
Sam and Max Creator Steve Purcell. His booth right next to...... this guy! Gabe Swarr was the one that got me in to the Con. Here's he's showing of the first issue of Big Pants Mouse! You can check out his stuff at www.dummcomics.com! Tell Lamar sent ya!
Brinke Stevens is one of my favorite B movie stars. I had to meet her, one to get some of her comics signed and to get the inside scoop on a mutual friend, Todd Kaylor.
As they say at Marvel Comics... 'Nuff said!!

Oh, don't forget to see The Dark Knight. It's the best Batman movie ever! Catch you on the flipside!

I've got a photo similar to the last one, only the woman is not a superhero.

Steve Purcell looks like a badass. Between the hat, the crossed arms and the two large refrigerator looking body guard things on either side...
